Incentives are powerful for a couple of reasons. Think about it—when you get a punch card at your favorite place, don’t you feel that little excitement or urge to go back? Same goes for coupons like “save $5”—you’re more likely to return and spend money to get that discount.
The same mindset applies to the beauty world. If you offer your clients a punch card to earn a discount on future services, they’re more likely to keep coming back. It’s a simple and effective incentive.
Here’s how you can do it:
• Use a business-sized card with 5 or more punch spots. 5 is a great middle ground, and you can get creative with the rewards!
• For example, 5 punches = $10 off, 10 punches = $15 off. Or offer a percentage off instead of a set amount.
• You can easily order punch cards online (check out the links below).
Distribute cards thoughtfully—hand them out to clients as you see them, not all at once. This keeps the discounts staggered, so you won’t end up with everyone redeeming at the same time.
Lastly, set an expiration date—1 year is ideal, or start with 6 months to see how it goes. If it works well, you can roll out a new card after that!
