How I Went From Lost to Leading in the Nail Industry
I was convinced I’d work in the medical field. In high school, I enrolled in medical courses, became a CNA, and even explored pharmacy and physical therapy. But deep down, none of it felt right. After a year of trying to figure my shit out, I realized the medical field wasn’t my passion.
It wasn’t until a nail appointment in 2010 that everything clicked: I wanted to be a nail tech. The moment I realized it, I went all in—enrolling in nail school, eager to start my career. But what they don’t tell you is that nail school only teaches you the craft, not the business side of things. I had no idea what I was doing.
I started from home, building my clientele with discounts and referrals, and even took out a $2k loan to get started. But I still felt lost. Clients were running the show—I was overworked, underpaid, and too scared to set boundaries. I let others dictate my worth because I didn’t know any better.
Things finally changed when I connected with other nail techs who showed me a better way—how to create policies, price my services, and, most importantly, believe in my worth. It wasn’t easy, but I rebuilt my confidence and my business.
Today, I’m here to be the support I wish I had. I know what it’s like to feel lost, under appreciated, and unsure of your next step. I’m proof that you can overcome all that and create a thriving business on your terms.
Let’s make it happen - together 🎉
